How Do I Use Text Banking?
Text Banking makes it easier than ever to access account information directly from your phone. While it’s simple to use, it’s important you set it up correctly and securely.
Most credit unions and banks require users to log into their secure banking site and select the mobile banking option. During the set up, an activation code is sent to your phone which you then enter into your online account to activate text banking.
Always make sure your bank or credit union is secure and is committed to never sending confidential information such as user ID’s, passwords, or complete account numbers via text banking.
Once you’ve setup text banking at your credit union or bank, you can use text commands to utilize a variety of different banking tools. For example, Education Credit Union, which is located in Amarillo, and Canyon, TX and the West Texas region, offers the following text banking commands:
BAL – Current and available balances for a primary account you designate
LAST – The last five transactions in your primary account.
